The KitSlate market — a grid of used camera, lens and lighting listings with prices, condition and city, from working filmmakers
The public market. Your listings first, then everything for sale from members.
01 · LIST — from the shelf in one click

Your inventory already knows the listing.

Sell this → on any inventory item fills the listing from what the shelf already knows: the name snapped to the catalogue, the model, SKU and purchase date, the item's photo, and a category read off the shelf it sits on.

Provenance the app can vouch forHow long it has been in your inventory, how many jobs it has done, how often it was rented out — shown to buyers as TRACKED IN KITSLATE.
Verified by receiptUpload the purchase receipt, or let a receipt already filed against the item go through the same check. AI matches the product and buyer name; buyers see the tag, never the receipt.
Bring a Craigslist post acrossPaste the link and the photos come across at full size. Paste a screenshot or the text of a Facebook listing and AI sorts it into the fields. Either way the listing carries a CROSS-POSTED chip and a link to the original.
Up to eight photosDownscaled and watermarked on the way in. The first is the cover. A stock product shot cannot earn the PHOTOS CHECKED badge, and buyers expect to see the real thing.
02 · BUY — browse free, message direct

No middleman. No account to look.

The public market shows the same listings to anyone. Search by gear, brand or city, narrow by category, order by newest or price. Every listing has its own page that search engines index.

Message the sellerNeeds a free account, and you land back on the same listing once you are in. Threads live in a MARKET MESSAGES panel, kept out of your job inbox on purpose.
Nobody sees an email addressBuyers see the seller's first name only. Neither side ever sees the other's email. Phone numbers and addresses pasted into a description are stripped.
What things really sell forMark as sold asks what it actually went for, not the asking price. That figure feeds the community's used-price median anonymously, and the Market & rates page reads from it.
Sold by the original ownerWhen the buyer name on a verified receipt matches the seller, the listing says so.

03 · SETTLE — you agree the deal

You agree the deal. KitSlate keeps the record.

There is no escrow, no buyer protection and no dispute process. You agree the price, check the gear in person, meet somewhere sensible and settle between yourselves. What KitSlate keeps is the listing, the messages and the sold price.

Sold, not removedMark as sold offers to take the item out of your inventory at the same time. Remove withdraws a listing straight away.
Archived, then tidiedA sold or removed listing keeps its title, price, condition, city and dates for ever. Its photos are deleted ninety days later.
Your currency staysA listing keeps whatever currency you posted it in. Nothing is ever converted.
The whole market on your pageEverything you have for sale appears on your public profile under FOR SALE, updating itself as listings come and go.
QUESTIONS — the ones people ask first

Before you try it.

What does it cost to list?

Nothing. Listing is free and there is no commission, on every plan including the free Profile plan.

Does KitSlate handle the payment?

No. Agree the deal and settle payment between yourselves. There is no escrow, no buyer protection and no dispute process, and the market says so before you buy or sell.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Anyone can browse and open any listing. A free account is needed to message a seller or to list something.

Do I have to add a photo?

Yes, at least one. Photo-less listings are not allowed, and the first photo is the cover.
